UV lamps with plug-in base
Since UV hardening inks and varnishes do not penetrate into the printing substrate during printing, they must harden on the surface. This process is initiated and/or speeded up by the use of UV radiation. The number of radiators included in the UV drying systems depends on the model of the printing press being used. For this process, Grafix UV lamps are used with power ratings of 160 to 200 W/cm in different dopages – tailored to the drying performance desired by the customer.
The plug-in sockets which are used in all sheet and almost all web machines guarantee simple handling when changing lamps. It is possible to replace the UV lamp manually without tools – the UV module is simply pulled out of the machine from the side, the lamp is inserted and secured with a bent stirrup.
However, the UV lamps provided for the very small web format, with cord connections, are also readily available and can be replaced in only a few operations.
