During the rubber-blanket cleaning cycles as well as during other short production interruptions, the UV systems may be left in stand-by mode. By omitting the stop and start-up process, up to 2 minutes can be saved for each washing process. When extrapolated to one month, this prolongs service life by almost one whole working day.
Another benefit: The UV lamps are relieved and thus have a longer useful life. Due to lower consumption, the stand-by mode may be a more efficient solution for the night shutoff of certain systems.
Machine operation in stand-by mode takes place without UV radiation emission – the German trade association for printing has already accepted this procedure for a number of printing presses.
